Salome Gunnarsdottir, the voice and motion capture actress for Maria in the Silent Hill 2 Remake. Recently addressed the Born From a Wish DLC during a Twitch stream. The Icelandic actress, who voiced Mary Sunderland and played a significant role in the game’s emotional depth. Was streaming as a tribute to the anniversary of the remake’s release. The stream attracted a massive crowd of Silent Hill fans. Many of whom were hoping for updates on the rumored DLC.

Gunnarsdottir, however, dashed those hopes when she revealed that she had not recorded any material for the DLC. She shared that she had been waiting for Konami or Bloober Team to provide any updates. But had received no word. “I’m just going to say—I’m not going to announce anything about Born From a Wish,” Gunnarsdottir said. “I have been waiting for Konami to say something. And I even asked Bloober if they were going to say something, but we haven’t recorded anything for it.”

Her statement seems to rule out the possibility of any recent or ongoing recording sessions for the DLC. But it leaves open the possibility of earlier pre-production work. It also raises questions about potential non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) that could prevent her from sharing more details.

Fans Still Hopeful for the Born From a Wish DLC’s Release

The original Born From a Wish DLC, released in 2002 for the Xbox, offered a 30-minute epilogue that delved deeper into Maria’s character. It introduced new enemy encounters and explored areas like Heaven’s Night Club, Baldwin Mansion, and Blue Creek Apartments, enriching the story and offering fans a fresh perspective on the Silent Hill 2 narrative.

Given that the Silent Hill 2 Remake earned critical acclaim for its faithful recreation of the original game, fans have been eagerly speculating about additional content. Many hoped that the Born From a Wish DLC would make its way into the remake, particularly since rumors linked the DLC to the upcoming Return to Silent Hill movie.

Despite Gunnarsdottir’s comments, fans still hold out hope for the DLC’s release. It is possible that Konami and Bloober Team are working on the content behind the scenes. The DLC could even tie into other upcoming projects within the Silent Hill universe. However, without confirmation from the developers, fans will have to wait for official announcements.
