With this configuration, the Kompanio 540 promises a significant performance boost over its predecessor. It is expected to offer better multi-tasking and responsiveness. Making it ideal for everyday tasks such as web browsing, document editing, and media consumption. Additionally, the chip supports LPDDR5-6400 or LPDDR4x-4266 RAM. Allowing OEMs to choose the best memory option based on performance needs and cost considerations. The Kompanio 540 also supports UFS 3.1 or eMMC 5.1 storage, providing fast data access for Chromebooks.

Enhanced Graphics and Connectivity Features for Entry-Level Laptops

The Kompanio 540 integrates the Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, capable of delivering impressive graphics performance for entry-level Chromebooks. This GPU supports video output at up to 4K resolution at 60 FPS for a single display. Or 2.5K resolution across two video feeds. This is a notable improvement for Chromebooks, especially in terms of multimedia consumption. Such as streaming high-definition content or working with visual media.

The chip also includes advanced connectivity features, marking it as one of the first to bring Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 to the entry-level market. Wi-Fi 7 offers faster data transfer rates and improved bandwidth, ideal for a smoother online experience, while Bluetooth 6 ensures better wireless performance for peripherals and accessories. The Kompanio 540 also supports Bluetooth Low Energy (LE), contributing to more efficient power consumption for connected devices.
